BABY HANDS AND FEET CASTING : FAQS

Where is the hand cast or foot cast taken?

Ideally at the studio, as this allows our clients to see all of the different casting options available and all the frames and mounts that really make your baby hand or foot cast stand out. Alternatively we can visit you at home.

Will my children be harmed by the casting process and how do I keep them still?

The baby casts are made using a medically approved material called alginate and are completely safe. They have been used on our own children! We appreciate babies and toddlers are constantly on the move and the beauty of this casting material is that it allows for this. Over time, we have found that if babies are fed before they have their feet and hands cast, it helps them to be relaxed.

How long does the casting process take?

The baby is only required to place their hand or foot in the mould for approximately one minute, making the whole process simple, quick and extremely ‘stress free’!

What happens if my hand or foot casts are accidentally broken?

We are happy to make a silicone mould of your unique cast and store it for you for a small cost of £10. This means you have a safeguard for such incidents as fire or damage or if you wish to order a duplicate copy from us.

Do you offer any discounts?

There are several ways in which you can receive a discount. Firstly, if you order more than one copy of the same item and secondly, if you host your own Precious Casts Party, you and everyone who attends, will get a discount on the items you buy that day!

How quickly can I get my final cast?

Depending on what material you choose for your unique baby cast, your finished piece should be ready in 6-12 weeks. Should you require your keepsake earlier we will try to accommodate you wherever possible!
